Japanese ex-employee of Nissan arrested for trade secret theft

It wouldn't happen in this country: first, the offence is set out in Japan's Unfair Competition Act, and we don't have anything like that (competition is allowed to be unfair, it's only when it becomes unlawful that the law intervenes), and second even if we did it would be unlikely to include any criminal offences. Interesting, though, especially at a time when there's an EU directive on the subject on the table.


How refreshing, incidentally, to see the word "data" correctly treated as a plural.
